Katya Teledjina
I’m Katya, also known as Teledjina. An architecture lover who became a director. A classically trained filmmaker who shoots funny cat commercials. A film-language researcher who figured out how to explain the beauty of a frame and all its parts in a way that is simple and accessible to anyone. Storytelling and aesthetics are the two things you can always see in my work and hear in my lectures.

I see directing as a limitless form. In my case, it stretches from theatrical releases (The Habit of Breaking Up, Yolki 3, Yolki 1914) and work with some of Russia’s leading actors (Aleksandr Petrov, Danila Kozlovsky, Irina Starshenbaum, Pyotr Fyodorov, Elizaveta Boyarskaya) to short comedy pieces and highly complex production design in social advertising. And from there, it keeps circulating—through my lectures and out into the world.
